OUR MISSION: SAVING DOGS IN –40° UP NORTH

This week, I drove six hours up north and spent seven hours outside in –40°, rescuing dogs who would not have survived another night. I went up planning to take four. I came home with sixteen.

The truth is heartbreaking:

We didn’t even scrape the surface.

There are still over 100 dogs waiting in deadly temperatures — freezing, starving, and hanging onto life by a thread. These dogs are everywhere. They lift their frozen paws off the ground to try to find relief from the cold. They hide in sheds, under broken vehicles, in the bush… anywhere they can escape the wind. No animal deserves to live like this, and they cannot survive the winter without help.

This is frontline rescue work.

And right now, frontline rescuers are drowning.

Rescues across Saskatchewan are full, their kennels maxed out, their vet bills at an all-time high. Dogs are coming in with injuries, infections, frostbite, mange, and severe medical needs. Every intake means thousands of dollars in vet care — costs rescues simply cannot keep up with.

There is not enough money in the world for the amount of dogs who need help right now.

But together, we can make a difference.

WHO I AM

My name is Kennedy, and I work hands-on with dogs who have nowhere else to go. I partner with northern rescues and frontline volunteers who put their own safety aside to pull these dogs out of freezing conditions. I have kennels on my property where I take in dogs who need immediate placement, warmth, food, and safety.

This week, those 16 dogs woke up warm, fed, and safe for the first time in their lives.

But I can’t stop there.

We need to go back for the rest.

WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL DO

Your support will go directly toward:

Emergency vet care

Vaccines, deworming, mange treatment, antibiotics, spays/neuters, and urgent medical needs for the dogs we pull.

Transport + rescue missions up north

Fuel, supplies, crates, safety gear — everything required to physically go back and bring more dogs home before the temperatures drop even lower.

Paying down rescue vet bills

Rescues cannot keep taking dogs if their vet bills remain in the thousands. By relieving some of that financial weight, we allow them to say YES to more intakes.

Food, warmth, and temporary care

Every dog rescued needs a place to land — heat, shelter, quality food, blankets, and basic care until permanent placement is found.

These dogs do not have days or weeks.

In –40°, they have hours.

Frontline rescuers cannot keep up with the volume of dogs needing help. We are doing everything we can — day and night — but without community support, we simply cannot reach them fast enough.
