Today, during these consequential times, the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) desperately needs your help. AUAF is Afghanistan’s only independent, private, not-for-profit, non-sectarian, coeducational institution of higher learning. The significant gains in Afghan women's rights and education – made possible by your support and the unwavering perseverance of young Afghans – are at immediate risk.
The Friends of the American University of Afghanistan (FAUAF) needs your help in supporting the AUAF community. Our individuals are high-value targets – Afghan women and men who seek high-quality liberal arts education and touch every corner of Afghan civil society.
We are working tirelessly and are in process of evacuating our students, staff, and faculty. The outpouring of support from institutions of higher education around the world to provide safe havens for the AUAF family has been truly amazing.
We need your help to fund these students, staff, and faculty as we evacuate them. Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly to the operational costs of evacuation, transportation, and relocation. This includes funding for emergency flights, housing, food, and access to internet. With your support, our at-risk AUAF community -- more committed to education than ever -- can continue their AUAF education beyond borders.
FAUAF is a District of Columbia non-profit corporation and has been recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Sections 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to FAUAF will be tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
