ONE Northside is home to 60 Parent Mentors — the majority of whom are women of color — who volunteer inside CPS elementary classrooms across 8 Far North Side schools, building stronger relationships between parents, teachers, and students. Parent Mentors are not just volunteers — they are leaders, caregivers, community builders, and essential partners in student success.
Right now,10 Parent Mentor families are at risk of not being able to pay rent at the end of this month.
Due to the recent raids, many parents have been forced to miss work out of fear for their safety, resulting in lost income. On top of this crisis, the federal shutdown has delayed voucher payments that several families rely on to cover housing costs. With rent due in just days, these families are facing the terrifying possibility of eviction or housing insecurity.
We are raising emergency funds to:
Cover urgent rent payments for 10 Parent Mentor families
Ensure children and parents remain safely housed
Provide stability in the face of government-manufactured crisis and fear
Please donate if you are able, and share this widely.
Your support makes the difference between crisis and stability for families who are deeply rooted in our neighborhood schools and community.
