Hi!! I'm a student at Penn State who heavily relies on financial aid to be able to keep up with the costs of schooling and living in State College. Penn State has taken away my student aid, so my loans that were originally supposed to pay for this semester's rent and food all went towards tuition.
I didn't receive any funding back and still owe Penn State money.
Due to the circumstances, I can't afford the rent anymore, especially with how last minute all of this was. (I was told it would be able to be appealed multiple times, but they are now telling me they can't even after doing everything they asked.)
I'm currently late on rent and am at risk of getting evicted. I have seemingly exhausted all of my options. I've been trying to get a job since July but haven't heard anything back. I've talked with the student aid office, filled out all their forms, got letters from SDR and my psychiatrist. I've talked to Student Care and Advocacy. I've gone to local support organizations like Centre Helps. I've even spoken with the student lawyers to try and find a way out of the lease. Unfortunately, all to no avail.
I am actively seeking out someone to takeover my lease, but until I find someone I am obligated to pay the rent. (If you know anyone looking for an apartment send them my way!)
I've been trying my best and will continue to keep looking for other avenues, but even a lil help would genuinely mean so much. I'm worried because this situation is getting in the way of my classes, and I'm supposed to graduate this year.
I'm considering also opening up art commissions through my art Instagram: bluberri.jpeg when I have any extra time between assignments if that's preferred!!
Thank you for any support you can give!! Small or big, financially or emotionally, I am equally appreciative of it all. <3
