Hi guys,

I’ve never asked for help like this before, but my home has become uninhabitable within the last 24 hours, and I need emergency support to relocate safely.

For over a year, I’ve been renting this home, and what started as a bee issue turned out to be a massive preexisting hive inside the kitchen ceiling and upstairs level bathroom floor and shower wall. Despite dozens of reports to property management —(see attached) and the fact I’m allergic to bees — nothing effective long term has been done.

Earlier this spring, the original hive died off and I thought my worries were over, but a new swarm of thousands descended and took up residence in the structure shortly after. Last night, the situation escalated: the ceiling light fixture in the kitchen where bees usually come in started leaking maggots.

Apparently the hive has decayed inside the ceiling.

Freaking out is an understatement.

I have not been to sleep and have my fur baby barricaded upstairs for his safety, while I pack our things because maggots are continuing to leak from the nest onto the floor.

I spent today calling every emergency aid agency, housing hotline, Red Cross and was turned away because I don’t meet the income requirements or I’m not eligible because I have a cat, I’m not on aid and don’t have small children, so there’s no emergency according to them. I just paid my rent and bills for October and now I need to leave my home, unsure of when I’ll be returning or if I will.

I’ve done everything: I documented the issue, contacted property mgmt, requested repairs in writing, explained I have a bee allergy that could quite literally kill me. I spent today preparing legal evidence for small claims court if it comes to that—but right now, what I need most is a safe place to stay while I figure this out.

I’m humbly asking for help covering:

- [x] Temporary motel or Airbnb stays (pet-friendly) for the next two weeks

- [x] Gas and relocation costs while searching for permanent housing

I’m setting a goal of 3,000 to help us stay safe and stable for the next couple weeks while I resolve this through the county code enforcement and court.

I’m not someone who asks for help easily, but I do need help and don’t really know what else to do.
