In June 2023, my safety was directly threatened when my stalker set my car on fire in Phoenix, forcing me to relocate to Las Vegas for protection. Despite the move, the harassment continued, and in October the same individual located me again, slashing my tires in a clear act of intimidation. With no time to plan or save further—and responsible for five cats and two dogs—I made the difficult decision to leave immediately and relocate to Los Angeles to break the cycle of danger and start fresh in a safer environment. Caring for seven pets added significant logistical and emotional stress to an already urgent situation, as I prioritized their safety and well-being alongside my own during the sudden upheaval.

This emergency move required depleting my entire savings and taking on substantial unexpected costs. I had to cover a full moving truck rental, cross-country transportation, breaking an existing lease with penalties, and securing a new lease in a much more expensive city like Los Angeles. Finding pet-friendly housing proved particularly challenging and costly, often involving higher deposits, monthly pet fees, and limited options that accommodated multiple animals—further straining resources already stretched thin by the rapid relocation. The priority was always safety and keeping my pets secure, but these combined expenses left me without the financial buffer I had carefully built.
