Emergency Flood Relief in our Sindhi Villages

Donation protected
We are raising funds to provide immediate relief and support to people in the villages surrounding the Center for Women and Children I've been building. There are many reputable, large organizations raising funds—but those resources will take time to benefit isolated communities. Project Khaalis is specifically providing emergency relief to a pocket of villages in central Sindh.

Here's our story...

Hello - I am Ghazala. I was born in Khaipur, Sindh but have lived most of my life in the United Kingdom. I have been building a Center for Women and Children in Sehwan Sharif, one of the oldest towns in Sindh, Pakistan—an epicenter of destruction and despair due to the unprecedented flooding.

When the floods first hit, my center was serving as an emergency camp for displaced families—we were also providing food and basic medical supplies. When our center became inundated by six feet of water, we turned our aid efforts to distribution in dry tent cities and by boat to reach people who weren't coming to higher, dry ground.

I urge you to donate and help in any small way. Through my nonprofit organization, Project Khaalis, I have a team of people on the ground helping rescue people and animals.

23 districts have been officially declared ‘Calamity Hit’ by the Government of Sindh. The humanitarian situation in Sindh province has deteriorated further over the past two weeks as heavy rains continue to cause flooding resulting in displacement and damage across the province.

We need your help to secure the following critical resources:

Food: The most meager rations go a long way. For example:
  • We prepare large pots of very cheap, filling food like a biryani made from rice and potatoes. Delivering essential nutrients, like carbs and sodium.
  • Children receive biscuits for breakfast
Water: We fill containers up from a local water pump and deliver it to villages as needed
Shelter: Basic accommodations to keep our families dry and help to improve health outcomes. For example:
  • Tents need to be acquired from bigger cities (It costs about $18 USD to pick them up from Jamshoro and up to $80 USD to pick them up from Karachi)
  • Mosquito nets are desperately needed to prevent mosquito-borne illnesses which can be life-threatening
Medical Support: We've appealed to friends of our project and local affiliates to for medical support.

Every little bit helps, all money goes directly to provide aid and supplies.

Thank You,

Ghazala
