Emergency Relief Fund for Families in my Hometown
Donation protected
About three weeks ago, Ethiopian Singer Hachalu Hundessa was shot and killed in Addis Abeba. The next day the Oromia region, which consists of cities such as shasamama , Arsi Negelle, Bulbula, as well as the Bale+ and Arsi region, was affected by ethnic violence and several hate crimes . The group responsible for these horrific crimes go by the name Qirro, and they have committed genocide towards Non- Oromo ethnic people and Christians, as well as burning and destroying several businesses and residential properties.
Among those victims is my cousin, Fisume Biyaregaw. He lost his life in a horrifying and tragic way. My other cousin, Ethiopia, not only faced the loss of our cousin, but the Qirro group destroyed and burned her business and residential house. She lost everything she worked for in just a few hours.
Beyond my devastation and heartbreak, I have decided to focus my energy towards the relief of my cousin, Ethiopia, and other families affected by this tragedy. All proceeds will go to my cousin, Ethiopia, to help rebuild her life and business, as well as a couple of families that have faced loss in my hometown.
My family and I have sent money back home to start the relief, but we have realized that it is not enough to get Ethiopia and other families back on their feet again, as they have children to take care of. My family and I appreciate any donations you can make, your kindness and compassion truly mean a lot to us.
