Venezuela was hit by two devastating earthquakes, causing hundreds of buildings to collapse in Caracas and nearby cities. According to the International Organization for Migration, up to 6.76 million people could be affected by this disaster.
The first days after a disaster are critical. Rescue teams and hospitals are overwhelmed, and many communities are still waiting for assistance.
Andrea and Isabella, two Venezuelans living abroad, created this GoFundMe to support the emergency response. When we launched the fundraiser, our goal was to provide whatever supplies were needed most. After speaking with doctors and partners on the ground, it became clear that one of the most urgent needs was medical supplies.
We therefore partnered with Corporación Medicare, an established Venezuelan medical supplier, to purchase and distribute critical supplies, maximizing the impact of every donation and getting essential materials to hospitals faster.
We are committed to full transparency and will continue sharing updates so donors can see exactly how the funds are being used.
Latest Update
✅ The first 2 shipments of emergency medical supplies has already been delivered to the NGO Entre Amigos por Venezuela and Hospital Domingo Luciani, one of the largest public hospitals in Caracas treating people affected by the earthquakes.
✅ USD 7,012.59 has already been invested in these first shipments, so help could begin immediately while fundraising continues.
The shipment included:
- 24,000 syringes
- 15,000 scalpel blades
- 16,000 butterfly needles
- 10,000 sterile gauze pads
- 15,000 catheter caps
- 5,000 IV cannulas
- 3,000 IV administration sets
- 60 surgical wound drains
We are now raising funds for the next shipments of medical supplies based on the ongoing needs identified by doctors and hospitals.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps save lives. Thank you for standing with Venezuela.
