My name is Alyssa, and I’m reaching out for urgent help. On January 28, 2025, my terminally ill grandfather and the other tenants of his Los Angeles apartment building were wrongfully evicted. The sheriffs changed the locks without warning, leaving residents without access to their homes, essential belongings, and even life-saving medications.

This devastating eviction has left families sleeping in their cars, struggling to find shelter. My grandfather, who requires constant care, was forced into an emergency living situation, and many other tenants have nowhere to go.

The building’s owners—now a bank due to foreclosure—manipulated tenants by telling them not to pay rent until further notice, only to use it as grounds for eviction. Additionally, they illegally raised rent by over 10% in a rent-controlled building, violating tenant protection laws. 

We are seeking urgent support to:

• Secure emergency housing for the displaced tenants.

• Hire a lawyer to fight this unlawful eviction and hold the responsible parties accountable.

• Provide basic necessities like food, clothing, and medical supplies.
