Help Two Disabled Families Evacuate Gaza

Donation protected
Hello, we are a group of friends from the USA and Germany raising money to help two families evacuate Gaza. Initially we raised money to try to supply them with food but due to famine and the ongoing bombings, evacuation has become the only solution that might not result in death. Evacuating Gaza is near impossible and expensive, and we need all the help we can get to save their lives.

We have been in contact with these families for four years and consider them a second family. The families consist of two sisters-in-law and their dependents: Hala is with her husband and their children, Adam (age 8), and Ahmed (age 6), who has Cerebral Palsy and a heart condition. Safa and her husband's children are Turk (age 5) and Soso (age 1). Turk lives with an ostomy bag and has stopped speaking since the war began, and Soso suffers from the toxic gases that she was exposed to. Additionally, Safa's brother is severely injured and needs urgent medical attention that can't be found in Gaza. That means nine people will be crossing the border. Due to the vulnerability of half of their group being children and disabled, it is especially important for them to get out of Gaza as quickly as possible.

In the initial iteration of this fundraiser, we kept these details private to protect them. By now, the situation has become so desperate that we are hoping that disclosing details of the severity of the situation will appeal to people's hearts and encourage them to spread the word and donate.
Any donation, big or small, is deeply appreciated. Please share this fundraiser widely within your communities!

All the funds raised will go directly through Western Union towards helping our friends escape Gaza to Egypt. Your donations will cover the costs of crossing the border, coordination fees, transportation, and essential cash assistance to cover living expenses in Egypt for the first couple of months.

-------

We are raising money to help two friends whose homes were destroyed to provide food for their families. Our friends are currently feeding their children animal feed and boiling tree leaves because they don't have the proper ingredients to nourish their children due to famine caused by the Israeli occupation. It has become extremely dangerous to try to access food, as demonstrated by the flour massacre that happened on February 29th, 2024.

The funds will go towards necessities like flour, cooking gas, and water. In the area of Northern Gaza they are living in, the cost of living is extremely high: Flour costs 1,700 shekels ($471/€437), and cooking gas costs 750 shekels ($208/€193) (if it can be found). Rice and vegetables are not available.

The money raised will be directly sent to Western Union. Since the Western Unions in Northern Gaza have been demolished, a trusted friend has decided to bring the funds from Rafah (Southern Gaza) back to our friends in Northern Gaza. This trip is life-threatening, as the Israeli troops have migrated from Northern Gaza to Rafah, and crossing over means risking their life.

We have decided to keep the identity of our friends anonymous for their safety. The cover photo shows both of the families' homes that were destroyed and one of the tents that they currently live in. We will be sharing more about the fundraiser as it progresses.
