As we all know the mountain areas of California experienced storms which left many community members trapped and in some cases needing to be evacuated. During this most recent storm, Sam and her family had to flee their mountain home after a large tree fell on on the roof rupturing a line causing the house to fill with gas. The family of four was able to leave with their dog and cat but only with the clothes on their backs. They will not be able to return home to assess the damage for another week. It is likely heavy damage to the home was incurred and the home will not be inhabitable for an unknown amount of time. Insurance during this time is not immediate and what is covered is not entirely sure. I am setting up this fundraiser to get this family through this initial crises period and help them get some essentials (clothes, food, etc). Right now each family member really only has the clothes they fled with. A neighbor took them down the mountain with others evacuating and they don’t even have reliable transportation.
