In the middle of the night, our neighbors Sarah and Mike experienced every homeowner’s worst nightmare. Due to sudden and severe river flooding, their home was completely swept away. There was no time to gather belongings, documents, or necessities. They made it out alive with only their animals and the clothes on their backs. Everything else was lost.

Sarah and Mike are longtime members of this community. They are kind, hardworking people who have always shown up for others, and now they are facing the unimaginable. While we are profoundly grateful they survived, they are starting from nothing.

At this moment, all they have are their animals and what they were wearing when they escaped. They have temporary hotel housing for a short time, but the days ahead are uncertain. Immediate expenses include food, clothing, gas, pet care, temporary lodging, and basic necessities as they work to stabilize and determine next steps.

This fundraiser has been created to provide urgent financial support during this overwhelming and heartbreaking time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Sarah and Mike meet their basic needs and begin rebuilding after this devastating loss.
