NRNA Australia is deeply saddened and concerned by the devastating flash floods that have struck Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and surrounding areas today.
Without warning, a wall of muddy water and debris tore through mountain villages, burying multi-story homes, crushing vital roads, and wiping out infrastructure. At least 22 lives have already been tragically lost, and nearly 400 people—including local families and hundreds of international tourists—remain missing.
The disaster has caused tragic loss of life, widespread destruction and immense hardship, while search, rescue and relief operations continue. Our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone affected, the families who have lost loved ones, and those still waiting for news of their family and friends.
At this difficult hour, the Nepali community must stand together. NRNA Australia remains committed to supporting Nepal and our people in need. We cannot stand by while our brothers, sisters, and visitors face this unprecedented disaster alone.
NRNA Australia has launched this official disaster relief campaign to mobilize immediate emergency aid from the Australian community directly to the worst-hit areas. We are working closely with NRNA ICC, local rescue teams, Nepal Government and registered ground partners in Nepal to bypass blocked roads and deploy resources to the front lines of this humanitarian emergency.
Let’s join hands with NRNA Australia and together we can bring hope into lives shattered by this devastating disaster.
