Emergency Relief for Mindelo After Natural Disaster

On the 10th of August a devastating natural disaster struck Mindelo, Cape Verde, leaving families without homes, access to clean water, food, and medical care. Our community is facing an urgent crisis — and we need your help.

1. Relationship with the beneficiaries

I have a direct and trusted connection with the individuals and communities affected on the island. I have been in regular contact with local representatives and volunteers on the ground, ensuring accurate information about needs and priorities.

2. Transfer plan

All funds raised through GoFundMe will be transferred directly from my account to the designated local partner organization(s) and trusted individuals responsible for distributing aid. This will be done via secure bank transfers, ensuring full transparency and traceability.

3. Allocation of funds

The donations will be used in two main ways:

• Immediate relief: providing food, clean water, medical supplies, and emergency shelter for those in urgent need.

• Ongoing recovery support: helping affected families rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and access essential services over the coming months.

We will keep donors updated with progress reports and financial summaries to ensure accountability at every stage.

We are working closely with local partners such as Liberdade Group Lda, Checkka Real Estate, NOS Ilhas Real Estate, and Voice Events. You can also contact the local bank BCA (Bank Director Danilo in Mindelo). In addition, since yesterday we have been in contact with the Cape Verde Embassy in Rotterdam to organize a cargo plane for the collected relief items.

Through Crazy Kitchen restaurant in Mindelo, we will also be providing daily hot meals. Furthermore, we have been granted the use of two classrooms at a local school to serve as storage space for the goods.
