Emergency Relief for Imminent Homelessness

Today is April 11th, 2024.

I’ve spent months telling my family I would need to move in at the beginning of May, when my lease ends. They have spent months telling me I can.

My uncle’s exact words were “Of course you can come live with us, and I expect you to take us up on that offer. I don’t want you to feel like you’re not wanted or not welcome.”

Today, they told me I was not welcome.

They claimed that they "have no room" - in their 4 bedroom house that sits on a half acre lot.

They said they "have no parking" - for my nonexistent car.

They said they "can't afford it right now" - after inheriting over 1 million dollars last year. My dad passed away when I was in college; half of that money would have gone to him, which would then have gone to me.

They said "well we thought you would have found employment by now" - meaning it was an empty gesture all along.

Not one of them has reached out to me since, despite multiple attempts to contact them.

I am less than 3 weeks away from homelessness. I have multiple interviews scheduled but no official offers yet. Even if I were hired tomorrow, I still would not be paid in time to save me. My credit cards are maxed out, and as of April 15th I have a stress fracture in my foot - meaning I can't even bartend or wait tables as a temporary lifeline.

I am now in desperate need of emergency relief funds.

Funds will be used for food, medication, cell phone, minimum credit card payment, and temporary shelter.

I am embarrassed, terrified, and alone... and out of options. I thank anyone in advance for anything you might choose to give me. And if you can't donate, I only ask that you share my story so that it is not forgotten.

The TL;DR version - My last remaining family promised for months that I could come live with them, only to say no at the last second. I have no car to sleep in, a dog to take care of, and a stress fracture in my foot. In desperate need of emergency help until I can get back on my feet.
