Emergency Relief for Herat Earthquake Victims

Donation protected
The city of Herat, Afghanistan, has been struck by a series of devastating earthquakes, leading to the tragic loss of over 3,000 lives and leaving countless others injured, homeless, or in dire need of essential supplies. This catastrophe comes at a time when the region was already grappling with profound challenges, including poverty, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure amid the rule of the Taliban.

Immediate Needs & How Your Donation Helps:
The aftermath of the earthquake has created an urgent need for:

  • Medical Supplies: Hospitals and clinics are overwhelmed, lacking the essential resources to treat the injured and care for those affected by the quake.
  • Food & Water: With inadequate infrastructure and existing poverty, there's an acute shortage of food and clean drinking water.
  • Shelter: Thousands have been left homeless, urgently requiring temporary shelters, especially as temperatures drop.

Every dollar raised will go directly to address these pressing needs. Here's a breakdown of what your contribution can achieve:

$25 can provide emergency medical supplies to treat five injured individuals.
$50 can feed a family for a week.
$100 can provide temporary shelter and bedding for a family displaced by the earthquake.

Our goal is to raise $5000 AUD, which will have a significant impact on alleviating the immediate hardships faced by the victims.

Transparency & Accountability: We understand the importance of ensuring that your generous contributions reach those in dire need. To this end, we are committed to regular updates on how the funds are being utilised and the difference they're making on the ground. We're also collaborating with local organisations and contacts in Herat to ensure an efficient and direct delivery of aid.

Now, more than ever, the people of Herat need our collective support. Your donation, irrespective of the amount, can make a real difference in someone's life during these challenging times. Together, let's stand in solidarity with the resilient people of Herat and extend a helping hand in their hour of need.
