Hurricane Beryl swept through the Windward Islands of the Caribbean yesterday. The island of Grenada was mercifully mostly unharmed, but its sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique were devastated. There is almost nothing
left. We are organizing emergency supplies of food, water, and medicine to take up over the next few days.
The superintendent of my condo in Grenada, Bonesy, is gathering supplies and I will be going with him in the next day or so to use this money, and my contribution, to purchase additional food, water, and medicine to be shipped up to Carriacou.
Update: we are packing 30 boxes of supplies to take up to a shelter tomorrow
Update: 7/6
An update on the supplies we were able to deliver to Carriacou thanks to kind donations. They’ve all been distributed to very grateful recipients (off the truck pictured here). The need is staggering from the account I just got from Bonesy and Chris who took the supplies.
July 11 update:
with the extra money raised we were able to send 11 more hampers and building supplies
