Our Story
Hi everyone — this is Chelsea. I want to start by apologizing for the long silence. GoFundMe temporarily placed a hold on this fundraiser for review, and I had to rewrite it to meet their guidelines. All of my statements remain true to the best of my knowledge. I’ve simply been completely inundated — between ongoing legal proceedings, housing challenges, full-time single parenting, and health problems — it’s been almost impossible to keep up with everything.
Since Buck’s passing in 2022, Reef and I have been in a long, difficult legal fight to protect his rightful inheritance and preserve his father’s home. What began as a family dispute became a wrongful eviction and ongoing probate battle. I was appointed by the court as administrator of Buck’s estate and have continued to manage everything on my own to keep the property and estate assets from being lost.
We are still waiting for the court’s next steps and final determinations. The legal process has been slow, expensive, and emotionally draining. I’ve already exhausted my savings on legal fees, repairs, and survival expenses, and I continue to do everything I can to protect what remains for Reef’s future.
If you’re able to donate, every contribution goes directly toward legal costs, storage, and basic living expenses while I continue to navigate this process.
Ways to Help Beyond Donations
If you’re local and able to lend a hand, we need help with the physically daunting work of organizing, sorting, packing, and protecting the property. I’m the only adult handling all of it — from dump runs and estate sale preparation to moving and repairs. Even a few hours of help would mean so much.
We also need community support. Reef has been through tremendous loss and upheaval and would benefit greatly from connection — playdates, outdoor time, or just a sense of normalcy while I handle the responsibilities that no single parent should have to carry alone.
Thank you to everyone who’s stood by us. This has been the hardest chapter of our lives, but knowing people care — whether through donations, time, or words of encouragement — truly keeps us going.
With gratitude,
Chelsea & Reef
