Emergency Plumbing Repairs – Help Restore My Home

Hi, my name is Stephanie Starrett, and I’m asking for help after an unexpected and devastating plumbing emergency in my home.

Recently, a faucet handle in my bathtub began leaking when in use. Over time, the handle completely stripped, and what started as a small issue quickly became a major crisis. Late one evening, the faucet began spewing water uncontrollably, flooding my bathroom and causing significant damage.

Because it was after 10 PM and my home warranty company was unavailable, a contractor friend rushed over to help and capped the pipe to stop the flooding and prevent further destruction. While this emergency action saved my home from even worse damage, it unfortunately resulted in my home warranty company denying coverage for the repairs—even after multiple appeals and explanations of the urgency of the situation.

As a result, I currently do not have a working bathtub or shower in my home.

The cost to repair the plumbing and replace the damaged flooring is estimated to exceed $3,000. As a teacher, I simply do not have the financial means to cover this expense, and saving that amount will take a very long time.

Asking for help is not easy for me, but I am reaching out with hope. Any donation—big or small—will go directly toward restoring basic plumbing in my home and allowing me to regain access to essential daily needs.
