This GoFundMe was created for the Rukaj family who have experienced so much grief within their lifetime. On March 11th, 1997 a heartbreaking tragedy happened to my cousin's Blerim and his family. Blerim and his brother Kastriot lived in a small village in Albania. The family lived on a farm and worked in the fields to make a living. The brothers were doing one of their daily duties which consisted of feeding sheep. While doing so they came across a bomb. Being kids and having no knowledge of what a bomb was the brothers decided to play with it. Kastriot was holding the bomb which exploded within seconds. Kastriot died immediately and Blerim became blind ever since. Blerim lost his best friend, lost his ability to see, and lost his childhood.

Fast forward to years later, Blerim got married and had two beautiful boys a seven and a year-old. Blerim and his wife tried their best to live a normal life and make their children happy. They hoped for their children not to experience their hardships. Recently this family received heartbreaking news. Blerim’s wife was diagnosed with cancer. Treatments are very expensive along with everyday necessities. It makes it impossible for the family to afford it. Blerim and his family have faced such tragic life events.
