First off, thank you for taking the time to read this. I really hate asking this is something I've never done anything like this, and if it wasn't for my partner of 33 years and our two grandchildren that live with us, I wouldn't. I would rough it on the streets and work my way back, but it's not just me, and my wife and grandsons couldn't do that.

Over the past year, right as we were beginning to recover from COVID, my partner and I were both finally working. Everything was looking up. Then she hurt her toe, and because of her diabetes, she had to go on FMLA. She ended up losing her left big toe, but we even started climbing back. Then her second left toe received a blister from work. She was told it wasn't work-related, but she had to take time off anyway. Then, 5 months after the big toe, she lost the second toe right next to the first and went back to work again. In April, she lost her fourth toe on the left foot, all while trying to work. But now her work had had enough and told her it's time to move on.

So far, only falling behind a little at times, I was just catching up with the bills. Mind you, I'm working at Walmart and up to this time was only receiving 33 hours a week. I was told if I went overnights, I would get a $1.50 an hour bump, so I did that. Then come to find out, first they take a dollar from me, then give me a $1.50 bump. I know it makes so much sense, but still, I was catching up. Then I was hit with a garnishment of $9,000 in fees and interest for a few traffic tickets that were as much as 12 years old that I wasn't able to address. So at 25 percent of my gross pay, they started taking after just 6 days' notice. I filed a hardship request with Spokane City, and they denied it. I explained my wife's situation and having to support my two grandsons. They didn't care.

Then two weeks later, I received a 14-day pay or vacate notice. My landlord went on to say how I supposedly owe him $5,500, and I showed him I was only behind $700, but he persisted to write it for $5,500, also stating I needed to pay him late fees that he had previously forgiven to the tune of $1,500 all the way back to the beginning of the year. That 14-day notice is up today, and since they're taking 25% of my check, it's now only $700 after everything for two weeks. After food, gas, and other bills like power and WSG, there's about $100 or so left for the landlord. So tomorrow, he'll be starting the eviction process, and I have no way to stop it. I'm desperately asking, not for me, but for my wife and two grandsons, for any assistance you all can provide. Even $1 would be so appreciated.

Oh, and if all that wasn't enough, our one car is about to lose the right side. The bearing is out, and the wheel is now wobbling as I'm driving down the road. So again, I ask, even a dollar, if enough people just would please help us out with $1, that would be awesome. Thank you, Jim and family.
