Hi, my name is Terry and I'm facing eviction. I need at least $1,525 for rent as soon as possible.

I owe $1,525 for November rent and received an eviction notice this morning. This apartment is about as cheap as it gets for my region, and it's in a good location for me to get to work. It's also the only apartment I've ever seen that accepts pets but doesn't charge a pet deposit or 'pet rent'. I'd like to keep this place if at all possible.

I have two cats. One is physically disabled and the other is about twenty years old, so they would both be hard to find new homes for. I'd rather not face the choice of having to give them up or have them put down if I can't find another pet-friendly place. That's the part that freaks me out the most about all this.

The bright spot on the horizon is that I'll be getting a raise at work soon (Thanks, union!). After that life will get a bit easier. It's just a matter of holding out until the New Year when the raise kicks in.

I may need to adjust my goal later. I've contacted my landlord to see if we can come to an arrangement. If not, I'll need to raise more for first month's rent and deposit on a new place (assuming I can find a new place instead of couch surfing or ending up in a hotel or something). If I can make an arrangement with my landlord, which would be ideal, I might still need to raise my goal to prepare for December. I'll update frequently so people know what's happening with this.

I'm freaking out but trying not to panic. Hopefully I'll hear from my landlord soon and we can come to some sort of arrangment. I'll update as soon as I hear anything.
