Casa Program- Pandemic Food & Rent Assistance
Monte del Sol Charter School's Casa Program for youth and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, in Santa Fe, NM, needs your help with emergency assistance in the pandemic. We are one of Santa Fe's few remaining Food Banks. We are disbursing >$1000. worth of groceries weekly, and we are assisting with rent and utility bills for families unemployed due to COVID 19.
Almost every family served by our Casa Program is headed by a single parent who was working multiple jobs and is now unemployed, due to the pandemic. Most do not qualify for expanded unemployment benefits, although they have always paid social security taxes. They were already living paycheck-to-paycheck, and are now facing overwhelming food insecurity. Our state has temporarily banned evictions, but rent and utility bills continue to pile up.
100% of your donation will go directly to feed our youth and families and help them with rent and utility bills.
Thank you!
