Emergency Pancreatitis Treatment for Ryder

Ryder, my sweet 3.5 year old French Bulldog came down with frightening symptoms just last night of excessive vomiting, and blood loss on both ends - after refusing to eat or drink for 24 hours plus. After contacting our vet, we rushed Ryder to the clinic for emergency examinations and tests. We waited nervously for the results (he was so tired and weak that he dozed off on the table) and our vet came back with the diagnosis indicating Ryder is suffering from pancreatitis, and his test results were alarming. Ryder didn’t leave the clinic with us and is currently admitted for in-patient IV treatment in hopes of reducing the infection and inflammation to a level where treatment can continue at home.

Similar to humans, pancreatitis can be contracted a number of ways, and unfortunately we don’t have the exact indication of how my baby contracted this. It is something that can happen to anyone, paws or not, but is extremely dangerous and can quickly lead to a life threatening position. We have opted not to waste any time in hopes that Ryder can make a full recovery and get back to his silly, loving, playful self. Unfortunately, this circumstance was extremely unforeseen and I was not prepared for this expense up front and out of pocket. Any support would be appreciated from the absolute bottom of my heart — Ryder is truly the light of my life and brings love and smiles everywhere he goes.
