Emergency LGBTQ Fund - PA Equality Project

Earlier today, a transgender woman in Auburn, PA had all of her belongings burned by her transphobic father including bras, underwear, and wigs. Sadly, this story is far from unique. We hear far too often in our work at PA Equality Project and PEP Trans of transphobic families throwing away any clothing or devices like binders hoping that somehow, getting rid of these items will turn their child back to being their sex-assigned at birth. But these parents don't understand being transgender is not a choice, it's your gender identity. So, in times like this, we need to help in whatever way we can.

With this fundraiser, we hope to donate a few hundred dollars to the trans woman in need. On top of that, we are providing her with resources for places to stay which might be safer for her for the time being. Any additional funds we raise are going to start a general LGBTQ emergency fund for stories like this in the future. As I said, we hear these stories far too often so we need your help to help others in emergency need. Your donations to this fundraiser will only be used to help LGBTQ people in emergency need such as this trans woman who is in need of our immediate assistance.

Any donations you can make, no matter how large or small, are greatly appreciated.
