My 10 year old little girl (niece) is in hospital abroad (Tenerife). We were on a family holiday in La Palma. After waiting and transferring it through covid 3 times. We finally made the holiday

my beautiful girl who is a very strong swimmer and spent the whole holiday in the pool. On the last day (yesterday-Thursday 31st Aug) we were all in the pool. Making the most of our last few hours before we got our flight.

One moment she was swimming. The next we couldn’t see her. We visually searched the pool and next we saw a shadow under the water. It happened so quickly. It was my baby girl. I pulled her out and she wasn’t breathing.

Lifeguards took forever to be seen even with all the shouting. Thankfully a uk paramedic was there and saved my baby and worked with the half broken equipment the life guards clearly not trained on how to use had when they finally showed up.

late last night she was transferred from La Palma to Tenerife by helicopter, as the hospital was concerned about the water on her lungs and they are not equipped for this.

I am writing and hoping for your help. We have insurance. But in the meantime my husband who is with her (he speaks Spanish). He wasn’t able to go with her by helicopter. They don’t allow anyone to go on the helicopter. He got a room for at an hotel for a few hours and flew on the first flight to Tenerife this morning to be with her.

I flew home to get my little boy home. He can’t see his sister like that. the hardest thing I have ever done in my life was leave my baby girl. I haven’t slept and haven’t stopped crying.

we don’t have the money and we are having to pay everything first and then claim. If we can claim. Never had to do this before.

My husband will be there for a few days or more. We don’t know. leaving my baby girl was the worst thing I have had to do. But being a parent and juggling what best for your children is a hard gut wrenching thing. My boy is safe and has people around him. And he is away from seeing his sister like this.

if you can help. I would be forever grateful, no matter how much. Anything will help us to be with our girl and to get her home. We want your help to do all we can and not worry on how to pay for it all. we just want to get our baby home

What ever we get and can claim back from insurance. We will pay it forward. We don’t want to keep the money. Thai isn’t about financial gain. You helping us just gives us piece of mind is all we need while they are abroad. Hotels, flights, food. We don’t know how long for.
