Hello my name is Sandie and I am fundraising for my daughter and her Children. My daughter Samantha has recently received unexpected news that she needs URGENT open heart surgery to replace her aortic valve.

This came as a complete shock, and she simply hasn’t had the time or opportunity to financially prepare for 3-6 months off work This is such a major operation and the recovery period that follows.

She is a proud mum of four children. Like many single parent families, she relies on a very careful balance to keep day to day life running. She recently applied for Universal Credit to support her through this period, but unfortunately the award she received covers less than half of her basic living costs. Such as food, gas, electric, water, and the children’s needs.

On top of this, the UC award that she will be receiving leaves a £250 shortfall on her rent each month. This puts her and the children at risk of falling behind on the rent and facing unnecessary stress during a time when stability is crucial.

With her surgery date now set for Christmas Eve she will soon be unable to work for a significant amount of time. While she recovers this situation will be incredibly difficult for her to manage alone.

She is someone who has always pushed through no matter what and gives her children everything she has, rarely asking for help even when she needs it.

This fundraiser has been created to help bridge that gap during her recovery.

It will allow her to cover the essential day-to-day living costs, Stay on top of her rent during recovery and focus entirely on healing and caring for her children without the fear of financial strain hanging over her.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will genuinely ease a huge amount of pressure and will mean the world to her and the children during this unexpectedly challenging time.
