Emergency Nurse in an Emergency Circumstance

Rachel Levinson is a Clinical Nurse who has spent over 25 years working in Emergency Departments all over the world - including Sydney, London and the USA…she now works in one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australia – Gold Coast Uni Hospital. As an integral part of this amazing team, she has helped to save countless lives and assisted thousands of members of our community in what would have been the worst day of their lives. On Friday the 18th of June 2021, Rachel’s husband, Bill Levinson died a sad, tragic and sudden death. He was only 42 years old. Bill leaves behind two of the most beautiful children… Lucas (11) and Sophia (5). What Rachel needs now is time to concentrate on her children to help them to heal as a family. Time she cannot afford to take off without pay.

Any donations we raise for her and the kids will be used to assist with funeral expenses, food for the family and general running of the household. Bill, when well, was a terrific husband and father and provided as much as he could during his ongoing battles with such a relentless and debilitating illness. The last two years were filled with connection and happiness as he found his way home and a way to be at his best. However, he did not possess the insight to plan for the future and without life insurance, savings, superannuation (401K) or anything to assist the family in the event of his death Rachel has been left to fund everything on her own.

For anyone who was lucky enough to know Bill, you would not have had a bad word to say about the kind and gentle man he was. He made everyone feel so welcome, was the world’s best host, could cook the best food you have ever tasted and cared deeply for others. Most of all, he loved Lucas, Sophia and Rach so fiercely. Rachel and Bill were soulmates. The bond Lucas and Bill had was incredible to watch, they were inseparable. Then when Soph came along, Bill was smitten, a beautiful little girl that lit up his life like a ray of sunshine. Their family was complete.

So many of us face tragedy and adversity in our lives and so many of us on the Gold Coast would have been helped or cared for by Rachel as you went through your own trying times. Please help us so we can help her pay for the one thing she needs most of all…. Time to heal.
