Update on Nala ❤️
Thank you so much for the continued kindness and support. I honestly cannot believe the generosity people have shown.
Nala is now urgently booked in with a specialist neurology hospital in Ringwood on Tuesday for a full neurological assessment including a neurologist consultation, brain MRI, spinal tap and treatment plan. Her seizures have continued despite medication and so her drugs have now been increased and the vets feel we cannot safely wait any longer for answers.
The cost of this package is £3,760 and thanks to you we have now reached so close to this and friends of the animals charity is also kindly contributing £600 which is incredible and means we are getting closer to making this possible.
We still have a way to go before Tuesday, so if you are able to share Nala’s page again it would mean the world to me. Every share genuinely helps more people see her story.
Thank you for caring about my little Nala
UPDATE:
Nala is now back home and has started anticonvulsant medication after suffering further major seizures this morning. I am currently waiting to book her MRI when I have a date, which I can only arrange once I have raised the funds. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and shared so far — it truly means the world to me and my children and mostly, Nala ❤️
Hi everyone,
I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this, but my beautiful French Bulldog Nala has suddenly become critically unwell and is now in veterinary hospital.
Over the past week Nala became unwell with what initially appeared to be a spinal disc injury (IVDD). Despite medication and strict rest, she suddenly deteriorated and began having severe seizures. Today she suffered another major seizure and has now been admitted for emergency care.
She urgently needs advanced neurological imaging (MRI) to determine what is happening in her brain and spine, and potentially life-saving surgery depending on the results.
The costs are overwhelming and escalating quickly:
• Emergency hospitalisation and seizure care: £400–£700 per day
• MRI scan: £2,000–£3,000
• Possible neurology/spinal surgery: up to £10,000 total vet bill potentially.
I am a single mum and full time working midwife and, like many people right now, I simply do not have access to this kind of money at short notice. Unfortunately, Nala’s insurance will not cover this condition, which has left me in an impossible situation while trying to make urgent decisions about her care.
Nala is still young, 5 years old, and otherwise healthy, and the vets believe she has a real chance if we can move forward with the diagnostics and treatment she urgently needs.
Nala is the sweetest, happiest little dog who brings so much joy to everyone who meets her and my 4 year old son George’s best friend! She’s been by my side through everything. Seeing her go through this has been heartbreaking and I just want to give her the chance she deserves.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and will go directly towards her emergency care and treatment. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you ❤️
