Emergency Mutual Aid for Young Homeless Trans POC in Crisis

We’re asking folks in and outside of the community for urgent mutual aid!!! A young trans south asian friend of ours, who wishes to stay anonymous for personal reasons, has had to flee his home due to serious domestic violence and has been sofa surfing in manchester for the past 6 months, while also struggling immensely with poverty and mental health problems, and the difficulties of being homeless as a heavily autistic person.

Our friend has been in and out of homelessness since they were aged 14 after experiencing years of really serious abuse at home, and is extremely traumatised by these things. They require serious care, but obviously, like most people in need of support in this country, they have little or no way of accessing it.

Furthermore, following recent legal troubles, they have had their phone seized by the police, and now have no access to their bank account due to issues regarding their ID and lack of access to their phone. Not only is our friend in need of urgent funds to live, afford the basic necessities and to save up money to try and put down a deposit on a room as it is, but he now (temporarily) has no access to his bank account due to the police taking his phone, so they also require urgent funds to sort out things like a new emergency passport, a new phone, etc, all while sofa surfing and struggling with their mental health and autism immensely. We really need help from the community to keep our friend safe and sustained in this urgent period of crisis.
