Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Animal Lovers,
My name is Jeanie, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved 3.5-year-old mini Aussiedoodle, Gunnery Sergeant Swagga (Gunner). Alongside my boyfriend Steve and my 86-year-young mother, Eleanor, we are facing an urgent medical crisis and are pleading for your help to save Gunner’s life.
Gunner's Plight
Gunner is a high-spirited, fun-loving, squirrel-chasing bundle of joy who fills our home with love and laughter. But on the morning of February 3rd, everything changed. Gunner became sluggish, struggling to walk, and after just a few steps, he collapsed. Since then, he has been unable to walk on his own.
I rushed him to the vet for an emergency visit, where tests confirmed active Lyme Disease and concerning spinal abnormalities. The doctor’s notes mention changes in his spinal discs that require urgent, advanced imaging (MRI) and specialized care to determine the cause and best course of treatment.
The Financial Challenge
The costs associated with Gunner’s diagnosis and treatment are overwhelming:
Initial emergency vet visit: $553
PetSmart supplies (to assist with his mobility/care): $149
Specialist consultation: $275
MRI & additional testing: $4,800 - $6,800
Travel expenses for treatment: TBD
Possible surgery & follow-up care: TBD
We have already spent what we can, but the cost of getting Gunner the care he needs is beyond our means. We are heartbroken but determined to do everything possible to help him walk again.
How You Can Help
We are humbly asking for donations—no amount is too small. Every dollar gets us closer to Gunner’s diagnosis and treatment. If you can’t donate, please share this message to help us reach others who might be able to assist.
Gunner is not just a pet; he is family. We appreciate any support you can provide to give him the fighting chance he deserves.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jeanie, Steve, Eleanor & Gunnery Sergeant Swagga
