Emergency Move-out!! (Roomie Nightmare)

Hi, it’s Luci I’m in trouble!

I am looking for help getting funds together to move into a new apartment in less than 2 weeks! Since my father passed away a few months ago, I have been having a hard time. The industry that I work is still recovering from COVID, and I had to take a semester off to grieve and come up with tuition. All of these things started piling onto each other, and then my living situation got flipped on me.

I am now facing legal charges and do not make enough at the moment to cover all of my debts! My priority is moving myself into a new apartment so that I can get my grounding to tackle my other obstacles. Rent in NYC is very high regardless of region or roommate situation, but I have managed to find a place I can move into by the end of this month (December). The deposit to move in totals $2,400 so I am hoping to raise $3,000 to help with renting a truck and extra hands.

Backstory:

I got a new roommate about a year ago and she had a hard time settling into the apartment. Her room is very small, and she was not a clear communicator. She actually blocked me on socials and used our other roommate to report her complaints. Until one day, about a month ago, she got the courage to confront and attack me which led to an altercation. I defended myself and was arrested after she called the police and lied about the situation.

Legally, I cannot return to my apartment but my other roommate/leaseholder is wanting to sue me if I do not pay him rent for December. Since I was arrested, I can only go to my apartment if a judge has it court ordered and I am waiting until my next court date to ask for a day I can move my things out I have been at this apartment for over 2 years so it’s a lot to tackle!

I admit it is a very messy situation, but not one I have ever found myself in. Hopefully I never find myself here again but if any of you can help me out this one time I would be eternally grateful for the support!
