Emergency Move

Hello,

My name is Isaiah. I am a 23 y/o disabled trans man currently living with my partner in Phoenix, Arizona- but not for long!

 

We are reaching out for help because the domestic situation that we are currently in with my partner's mother has reached a threshold of abuse that we can no longer tolerate. 

 

We are adults and have been signed to the lease of this apartment and paid our rent for over three and a half years, at one point even covering hers, yet she expects us to be subordinate, and take it when she insults us, demeans us, or demands things of us. She had previously been in charge of all of my partner's finances, and upon learning we intend to leave as soon as possible, she attempted to cut off our resources, including our phone plans (which we pay for) and our car insurance (to a van We bought & own and also pay insurance for). 

 

Things started to get really bad because she claimed to have not been paid for a specific month's rent. Our bank statements do not corroborate this claim and we quickly realized she is being deceptive about what she was asking of us financially. We realized that this is a predatory situation and need to get out ASAP. Since learning of this intention, she has been alternating between ignoring our existence and harassing us for more money.

 

We will be staying with my best friend, we're very grateful to have some family and resources on the east side of the country, but as it is now, we need help raising the funds to get out and get over there as cleanly as possible.

The Goal

Our intention is to fly out to Baltimore to meet my friend on the 24th of October. We will be bringing our cat as well. Our vehicle currently has severe steering wheel play and is unsafe to drive across the country. We will instead be storing it here at a secure lot until we have our ducks in a row and can come back to repair it & bring it home at a later date.

 

We need assistance raising the funds for the following;

-Car Storage - We need enough to pay for this month & next months rent at least. This will come out to around $150

-Plane Tickets - Every day the flight prices fluctuate, we will need between $250-$350 per person.

-Pet Flight Fee - Because our Catra will be coming with us, we also need to transport her on a plane as a carry-on. This will be around $150 depending on the airline we wind up getting tickets through.

 

So, we are looking to raise $1,200. We realize this is slightly more than the calculated amount of $1,000, but we want to leave plenty of room for the inflation of tickets and uncertainties surrounding travelling right now.
