We are Hane Alrustm and Shadi Alaiek, the founders and directors of Healing on the Move, a mental health initiative that supports communities living through war, displacement, and political violence in the MENA Region.

Today, I am reaching out with an urgent appeal.

As the war continues to expand across the region, the psychological and social impact on our communities is deepening rapidly. People are experiencing loss, displacement, fear, and ongoing uncertainty. Every day, more people contact us asking for support.

At the moment, our resources are exhausted, while the number of people seeking help continues to grow. We currently have people waiting for support who are simply asking not to be left alone during these extremely difficult times.

Healing on the Move was created to respond to exactly these moments.

Our work is based on the belief that mental health support should not only treat trauma but also strengthen community resilience, dignity, and collective care.

For several years, we have been providing one-on-one therapeutic companionship sessions for individuals experiencing trauma and distress during crisis, community group spaces where people can process their experiences collectively, and support one another.

This fund will be used to offer one-on-one and group trauma-informed companionships for survivors of the war.

We offer individual Psychological First Aid and companionship for survivors of the war in Lebanon.

Your donation will help us to sustain these spaces of healing...

This is an act of resistance, an act of resilience.
