Hi my name is Verona Webley and I am fundraising for my niece Elisha, who suffered a Aneurysm, who is in need of emergency surgery and medical support for her recovery to enable her to fly safely back to the UK.
Title: Emergency Support for Elisha's Medical Care Abroad.
What began as a joyful holiday in the Dominican Republic turned into a nightmare for our beloved Elisha She suddenly fell ill, and after being treated for what was thought to be a stomach bug, she was rushed into critical care. Doctors then discovered a bleed on her brain, and since then her journey has been one of courage, treatment, and an uncertain recovery abroad.
Elisha is a hardworking young woman in full-time employment who had the appropriate medical insurance in place. She is fiercely independent and would never dream of asking for financial support, not from family and certainly not through a public platform like this. We have tried in every way to honour that pride and self-reliance. However, faced with the reality of the ongoing costs, we have no alternative but to take this step on her behalf.
From the very beginning she faced difficulties with her insurers. When first treated for the suspected stomach bug, she was forced to pay £3,000 upfront to be seen, as she was in extreme pain and could not wait for delays in insurance authorisation. Then when her condition escalated and she was rushed into critical care, the insurers declined Elisha’s claim and they would not pay any medical expenses therefore as a family we are trying to cover all expenses with difficulty. Given her critical state, moving her was not a safe option. It was literally a matter of life or death. Faced with this impossible choice, her family covered enough costs to ensure that she received immediate, life-saving treatment.
The medical bills quickly rose to over £50,000, which her family has already stretched themselves to pay. Elisha's treatment will involve an endovascular procedure via the arm, a highly specialised, minimally invasive surgery where doctors insert a catheter through the artery to repair the bleed. This was the safest and fastest option for her condition, but it still requires careful follow-up, repeat scans, and potentially further interventions in the future.
Elisha cannot yet be cleared to fly home, the expenses continue: extended accommodation, food and daily living costs, flights, and the therapies she will need in the weeks ahead. These pressures are weighing heavily on her loved ones, both emotionally and financially.
Elisha is not only our niece, she is also a daughter, sister cousin, aunty, godmother, friend, and girlfriend. So many lives are touched by her presence, and so many hearts are invested in her safe recovery.
We are reaching out humbly, asking for help to ease some of this enormous burden, so her family can focus on what matters most, her healing and safe return home. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. And if you are unable to donate, simply sharing this appeal would also be a powerful gift.
From the depths of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time.

Every single donation will go towards easing this enormous strain, allowing her family to focus on supporting her recovery and safe return home.
