Emergency Medical Supplies to Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan physicians in New England in collaboration with the Connecticut Meditation Center and Buddhist Temple launched a GoFundMe to raise funds to meet this critical need. Your generous donations have reached the most needed hospitals and patients in Sri Lanka.

We donated medications and medical supplies to hospitals directly and supported a much-needed telemedicine project to reach patients in rural central and north central provinces. Some funds were directly donated to the Ceylon College of Physicians to buy medications for distribution to hospitals and clinics.

In short, We helped replenish almost empty shelves of some hospitals with insulin, antibiotics, multiple psychiatric medications and anesthetics for life saving surgeries at least for a little longer. Your generosity certainly made the difference between life and death for someone sick and in need out there.

Some donors have already pledged an ongoing monthly donation and some have pledged to keep the fundraiser in mind for special occasions or in remembrance of loved ones. Whatever way it fits your budget, please remember even a small contribution goes a long way in Sri Lanka.

Please check with your employer to see whether they have a charitable donation matching program. Since our fundraiser is organized through Connecticut Meditation Center (a registered nonprofit organization), your contribution may be eligible for a matching donation to the fundraiser by your employer. We already received a significant amount of funding through employee contribution matching programs and greatly appreciate the participating companies.
