Heart Transplant for Waylon Gower

Hi everyone, my name is Deedra and I have known Christen and Dylan for about 15 years.  Earlier this week they received some terrifying news about their 4 month old son Waylon and are currently in Dallas, TX at the Children's Medical Center.  On Tuesday July 9th, they took Waylon into the doctor for a check up since he is struggling to gain weight. At that appointment the doctor prescribed a specialized formula high in protein to give him.  On July 13th his breathing was labored so when he went back to the doctor on July 15th for a weight check she had them check that out.  His breathing concerned the doctor enough to send them to St. Francis in Tulsa, OK via ambulance for a  chest x-ray.  The x-ray revealed that his lungs were clear but his heart was enlarged.  The doctor as St. Francis order an Echocardiogram to take a closer look.  Results of the echo: dilated left ventricle resulting in poor function, bicuspid aortic valve stenosis (narrowing), and abnormal aortic valve with only 2 tri leaflets (a normal has 3)  so the decision was made to transfer him to another hospital for a balloon valvuloplasty and/or stint.  Dallas was the 1st hospital that could get him in so the process was started.  In the middle of the night Monday 07/15 Christen and Waylon were loaded into a helicopter that transferred them to Dallas.  Dylan, Christen's mom Bobbie, and Christen's sister Masyn drove down to Dallas to meet up.    On Tuesday afternoon, July 16th Waylon underwent surgery to run a balloon into his aortic valve in hopes that it would open it enough for better flow.  That procedure was successful and he is currently recovering nicely.  They kept him on the ventilator overnight to give him a break but brought him off earlier this afternoon.  They decided he still need some help so they have him on a CPAP machine and are monitoring him closly.  As it stands now, he will be in Dallas at least 2 weeks possibly longer.  Christen and Dylan are both unable to work during this time which means expenses will be piling up.  They will be needing help with bills, travel expenses, and food.   If you have it in your heart donate here or  choose to help in other ways (cash app, having dinner delivered, helping with their other children in the coming months) we truly thank you!  I know everyone isn't able to help with a monetary donation and that is perfectly fine but if you read this they would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for a fast recovery. .  Cash App ID: $ChristenMarie17 Venmo ID: Christen-Jones-13
