Emergency Medical Fund for Chris Paquin

Donation protected

Hi My name is Karen Dalton, Founder and EVP of Dare to Dream Ranch, a 501c3 that offers alternative therapy programs for service members, veterans and their families. A year ago Chris, an Army Veteran, and his wife Liz, a horse trainer, brought their son, Gabe, who loves cows, out to help us desentize and train our steer for riding. Last Friday Liz had to cancel because she was taking Chris to the ER for severe headaches.

These are her words from Fri through this morning.

"Please keep Christopher Paquin in your prayers. I brought him to Fatima er ealier today for what we thought was a pinched nerve in his neck causing a severe headache. After a cat scan Dr's found he had a brain bleed which was causing blurred vision and vertigo/uncoordination. He had to be transported to RI hospital to be put in critical care. I wasn't allowed to go because of covid restrictions. They will be doing brain scans throughout the night. I just got home and waiting for updates. I will keep everyone abreast to anything I hear. Please I need you all again to send this family healing prayers. I need my rock to come home safe. "

"Quick update on Christopher Paquin. After what seemed like a good night and talking to him this morning things went down hill. The latest brain scan showed that he was still bleeding. The decision was made to have surgery. They will be drilling to relieve the pressure and stop the bleeding. I got to speak with him briefly again right before they took him. Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers. They are greatly needed. "

"He's made it thru the most crucial 24 hour post surgery period. He has developed vision issues tho. Double vision, blurred and unresponsive pupal dilation, plus high light sensitivity where his room needs to be dark. Dr's aren't overly concerned but are watching it. They believe even with relieving pressure in brain it may have shifted ( blood) and its pressing on ocular nerves. His body still needs to absorb it all which can take a few more days. drain will remain for a few days as well. They do have him making very short walks that do tire him out quickly.

We both would like to thank so many of you. All the grandparents and Jess for taking Gabe while I go to hospital and feeding him. To my mom for making many meals for me to take home today and to all the offered to. To you all who have reached out. And The Chief Robert G. Dauphinais Memorial Foundation graciously helping me out with the costs of traveling to see Chris everyday (for some.reason I can't tagged them in this). You know that saying "It takes a village..."? I am humbled and FEEL we have one that has our backs!"

As of Monday, Labor Day, " I received a call from hospital last night around 1:30 a.m. that Christopher Paquin condition greatly declined. He was sent to get a MRI and become unable to breathe and was panicking. After many attempts to get his body under control he had to be put on a ventilator to breathe for him. There was more bleeding in his cerebellum causing pressure on his brain stem. 3 a.m. I gave permission for them to take a section of his skull out to give his swelling brain room. Dr said likely hood of him making it without procedure were very slim.

I finally talked to surgeon at 9a.m. Chris made it through surgery. Next few hours will be very crucial. They still need to get MRI done to see what's really going on inside his brain and to see if he had a stroke during operation but need him stable to be able to. I am able to go visit later. Again will will try to keep up with updates. "

They are in need of prayers but also emergency funds. We are starting with $10,000 to cover immediate expenses and copays for medial. Chris is the sole bread winner in the family as his wife, Liz, has her own health issues. They need your support to keep their family together . Please help me help them. I am starting it off with my own personal donation. Please give what ever you can. Liz has expressed her deep gratitude to all of you.

Thank you
