Emergency medical expenses for our baby Kingstin.

Sunday started off the same as every other day, playing with the kids and spending time with the family. We were making our usual buffalo wings and getting ready to watch football when a terrible freak accident happened.

While moving the frying oil from the stove the handle of the pan broke and the hot oil spilled. Sadly, it spilled and splashed onto and severely burned our sweet baby Kingstin. We immediately ran him under ice cold water. Once we took off his clothes, we knew right away we had to come straight to the ER. From there we were told he would need to be transferred to a burn unit (there is only 1 in the state of NJ). A few hours later we were finally where he needed to be to get the care he required.

The doctors let us know that the majority of his burns are second degree, but there was one area of his body in particular that was concerning. The care team here has been fantastic but our baby has a lot of healing to do. We will most likely be here in the burn unit for a minimum of 7-10 days. Each day he is taken into the “burn tank” where his team changes his dressings and assesses his healing and what to do next. We are still waiting to get final word on whether or not he will need any grafts.

If you don’t know about burn healing, it’s a lot of wait and see what the body can do on its own. So this is where we are now.

Mom and Dad are trying our best to keep King as comfortable as possible with lots of love and gentle snuggles. Both Nanas are doing a spectacular job helping with Ashlin and little Colin, we wouldn’t be able to get through this without them.

We are reaching out to all of you for a bit of help to offset some of the medical expenses as well as to ask that you keep King in your prayers and thoughts. We will take all the healing vibes we can get for him! He has been such a strong little guy throughout this whole process!
