Emergency medical expenses for Hannah & Charlie!

As many of you know Hannah (Holmes) Erdley is having a baby, for this we are so very grateful! As of August 24th, Hannah and her husband Eric learned during the routine anatomy scan, that their sweet baby Charlotte Noelle Erdley had a neural tube defect called, myelomeningocele spina bifida. At this point their whole world seemed to come crashing down. Hannah was immediately scheduled for a Neonatal/perinatal specialist appointment. While they waited for their appointment date, they earnestly sought the Lord and His will, standing in faith for complete healing for Charlotte. The appointment date arrived and the specialist confirmed that our Charlie did have spina bifida. Fortunately, it was caught early and is in the best location for the best outcome. Because of the type of spina bifida that Charlie was diagnosed with, Hannah and Charlie will undergo in-utero surgery that will repair the spinal cord. This procedure is only performed in 4 locations in the United States, requiring Hannah and Eric to travel to Houston, TX, where they will receive care at, The Fetal Center of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. The vital Myelomeningocele in-utero repair surgery,, will restore function to Charlie with the most likelihood of her being able to walk as well as allow the fluid on her brain to drain. They will be in Houston for a minimum of 4 weeks with the possibility of a longer stay based on their progress.

This news has come as a hard blow to Hannah as a first time momma and as a result of the surgery required for Charlotte, Hannah will be on mandatory bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. We are so grateful for the advances in medical science, that only God in His divine design allows man to imagine and utilize. With bed rest and increased prenatal care needs, Hannah will not be able to continue to work, abruptly decreasing their income while simultaneously increasing their expenses. We are asking our friends and family to rally around Eric, Hannah and Charlotte Noelle Erdley and link arms and hearts , being the Body of Christ and truly being our brothers and sisters keepers! In addition to financial help, they are in great need of the basics for a new baby. Most importantly, they are in need of a car seat, a bassinet, diapers, pacifiers and a new born bathtub.

This request came with much reluctance on the part of Eric and Hannah, as they both strive to always be the ones helping and not the ones receiving. But, this time, they are in great need of receiving!
