Emergency Medical Expenses for Connie Hall
Donation protected
Our Queen has fallen
Friends, we are sad to report that our mom Connie Hall, long time proprietor of Blue Moon Perennials (aka The Garden) in Dexter, fell last week while working outside and fractured her hip, necessitating surgery. After an ambulance ride to Dover, and 24 hours in the emergency room, she had surgery in Bangor on Saturday, June 1, and is in rehabilitation at Mayo in Dover.
She will rise!
She has actually already been able to stand, and is confident that she will be ready to go home soon. She is motivated to heal and get back to the gardening that she loves.
Resources
For those of you who know them, you know that Connie and Dennis are hardworking people who live very simply. They love to maintain the beautiful gardens they have grown around the house for 50+ years. Since retirement, simple living has been more of a necessity than a choice. In addition to you, their family, friends, and wider community, their home and gardens are all they have.
Margins
There are none. They have Medicare and supplemental insurance, but the co-pays for the ambulance rides, emergency room stay in Dover, surgery in Bangor, and rehabilitation (OT/PT) in Dover (and after release from the hospital) are estimated at $4000.00.
GoFundMe – this platform allows people to make a financial contribution that might feel a bit awkward to do in-person. Many people in emergency situations have received substantial support from their communities through this platform. You can set your contribution to GoFundMe to any percent you like, even 0.00% when you make your donation.
Anything you can contribute will significantly impact our parents' ability to weather this storm.
Thank you for your love and care for our mom,
Her daughter and son,
