Emergency Medical Costs for Alex Rennie

Donation protected
Alex Rennie is currently fighting for his life. I am Alex’s youth pastor and I am going to try my best to explain:
On Saturday morning, the 23rd of April, Alex was brought to Oconto Falls Urgent Care by his mom. Alex was sent to the hospital from Urgent Care for imagining. They discovered through CT imaging that Alex had a bowel perforation. Alex was then transferred via ambulance from Oconto Falls Hospital to Aurora Hospital, in Green Bay, for emergency surgery. During surgery they removed part of his colon and gave him a stoma. They were not able to reconnect his colon due to infection. Alex’s body is fighting sepsis. Throughout the night Alex’s condition worsened, his heart was only functioning at 5-10%. The decision was made that they had to put him on a bypass machine for his heart and lungs, to allow them to heal. Because of Alex's condition the Drs made the choice to flight for life him to St. Luke’s in Milwaukee. At St. Lukes they had to put him on different bypass machines. They also put him on dialysis because his liver and kidneys were shutting down and he is needing help to clean his system from infection. They administered a blood transfusion and continued all the numerous medications for blood pressure, infection, etc. Along the way Alex’s left leg started to swell and they needed to make an incision to relieve the pressure as to not cause damage to the tissue. Not long after they had the same issue with the right leg, and made an incision in his right thigh and calf. In Green Bay the Drs were questioning why Alex’s hemoglobin was so low and not increasing… they questioned leukemia. It has now been confirmed through oncology tests at St Lukes that Alex has Acute Leukemia… they will not be able to tell which leukemia until they can do a bone marrow biopsy. However, they can not perform a bone marrow biopsy until he is healing from the sepsis and stable.
Alex is infact fighting for his life and it seems as though each report they give is touch and go. Moment by moment. At the current moment they are giving him a blood transfusion, platelet transfusion, and trying to control bleeding from the incisions they have made in his leg. His heart is still functioning around 5-10%. They still have him on dialysis, he is still on bypass machines for his heart and lungs, they are doing all they can to fight the infection and keep his body from shutting down and they will address the leukemia when he gets through the sepsis. We are fighting beside Alex and his family.
The daily cost of ICU care is approx 3,000/day without any extraordinary machines, surgeries, etc. A median cost of 30,000 for 14 days. Josh and Jodi are also out of work to be beside their son, as each of us would be.
We are asking if you would first pray… Then, if you want to help in any way possible, like many of us, please donate. We can support them financially so that there isn’t another “something” for them to be concerned about. Josh and Jodi are currently staying at a hotel, which we all know isn’t cheap. The Rennie’s are always pouring into the community and they’ve raised their boys to love and pour into their community as well. Let’s pour back into them. I know my area of Northern Wisconsin; Coleman, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Gillett, Lena, Peshtigo, Crivitz, Marinette, Shawano and beyond are all about helping one another. We are each others community. Thank You ❤️ #AlexStrong
