On March 29, my family and I rushed to take my dog to the vet. We waited 5 hours at a clinic in another city just to be told that Yoshi was lucky to be alive, but the clinic did not have the necessary equipment to care for him. We were referred to a 24 hour clinic in another city, where we stayed an additional 3 hours.
Yoshi has extreme amnesia and needed an immediate blood transfusion. So far, the vets have no idea why he is so dangerously anemic. He needed to be admitted for (at least) an overnight stay at the emergency vet, where he will receive the transfusion and undergo tests to identify the underlying cause. We needed to pay upfront. How could we say no when there was a chance to save him?
The visit to the first clinic cost $560. The emergency vet costs $3465. There is the potential cost of additional treatment.
Any help for our boy would be very much appreciated.
