Hi everyone,
I never imagined I’d be creating a GoFundMe for a kitten who is barely 12 weeks old, but here we are. This is Billie; my tiny, sweet girl who has already been through more than most animals experience in a lifetime.
What started as what I thought was simple abdominal pain quickly turned into something much more serious. After extensive blood work, X-rays, and an ultrasound, the vet initially diagnosed Billie with constipation. A few hours after bringing her home, she did have a few bowel movements but they were bloody. That was just the beginning.
Shortly after, Billie began to rapidly deteriorate. She started having multiple seizures, was unable to eat or drink on her own, and couldn’t walk properly. Her hind legs would stiffen, causing her to stumble and fall. Seeing her like this was absolutely terrifying. I rushed her to the emergency veterinary hospital, where they immediately ran more blood work and additional tests.
Billie has now been officially diagnosed with feline leukemia virus (FeLV).
Feline leukemia is a serious viral disease that weakens a cat’s immune system, making it extremely difficult for them to fight off infections and illnesses. It can cause severe symptoms such as anemia, neurological issues, seizures, and failure to thrive, especially in kittens. There is no cure, but supportive care and treatment can help manage symptoms and give cats the best quality of life possible.
With just the first two vet visits alone, I am already overwhelmed by medical bills. Billie had to stay overnight at the emergency hospital, and I honestly don’t know what the next few days will bring; medically or financially. I do know that there will be more expenses as we continue to fight for what’s best for her.
I am doing absolutely everything I can for Billie, but I can’t do it alone. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical care, treatments, diagnostics, and ongoing support. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read Billie’s story and for keeping her in your thoughts. She is such a tiny soul with so much fight left in her, and I want to give her every chance possible.
