On 7/7/2020 Anice faced a significant stroke at her home, was transported to Holy Cross Medical in Taos for treatment and was subsequently flown to Colorado Springs where she underwent two critical procedures and remains under medical sedation while her body recovers enough to be awake again. This unexpected life event has kicked off a journey with an unknown outcome and uncertain course. This woman shines light all over through her grounding and strengthening practices as a Yoga teacher and studio owner and a Stand Up Paddle Board Goddess. In addition to helping every man woman and child she meets learn ways to be more fully in their bodies, she is a big contributor to the Taos and Arroyo Seco Communities through her community building get-to-know-everyone-and-support-their-passion style.
Anice is a mother to two wonderful young men who are waiting for her to wake up and start the road to healing. While we who love here in her chosen home of Arroyo Seco, New Mexico are all bringing together our best thoughts for her full recovery at this time, we also see that this situation will have real financial implications for her family. Feeling otherwise rather helpless, we are asking for your help, in any amount, to provide some community support toward her cost of care.
We do not have any kind of accounting on what the costs will look like so we have started the fundraiser at a modest 10 thousand dollars. We know the American medical system is not kind to any of us, especially the uninsured. And we also know that not everyone has the means to give, but we cast this net and intention that Anice be cared for well, with the best the medical system has to offer, so that she may have an opportunity to return to enjoying the life she loved living so much. We will be updating this page and presenting additional ways to become involved in this fundraising work for Anice.
There is no emergency deadline, but the bills will start rolling in next month.
Any funds raised will be designated for use by Anice's mother.
