Dear friends,
More than 4,000 refugees in Tajikistan are in urgent need of medical support!
The COVID pandemic has caused the price of medication to rise while destroying livelihoods across the country. Refugees in Tajikistan, mainly from neighboring Afghanistan, are among the hardest hit. The bread winners of many of these families have lost their jobs and cannot afford buy the medicine they need. This is not only to treat COVID, but also for pre-existing illnesses, many of which are life-threatening and affect men, women and children.
The staff of a local non-profit organization, Refugees, Children & Vulnerable Citizens (RCVC), are arranging emergency supplies of medicine for this community. They are also organizing support for local hospitals that treat refugees and their host communities to ensure access to healthcare as well as improve the quality of medical care they receive. But RCVC need funds to do this.
Please donate what you can to help these people in need.
About RCVC: Refugees, Children and Vulnerable Citizens is a public, humanitarian non-profit organization which provides social protection, medical care, education, vocational training, self-reliance and livelihoods programs for refugees and some of Tajikistan's most vulnerable citizens. Since being established in 1996, RCVC has worked closely with local, international and intergovernmental organizations, in successfully assisting hundreds of marginalized and vulnerable individuals in gaining access to essential services, such as health care, legal advice and employment.
