Emergency Medical and Traveling Expenses

Please consider helping our family raise the necessary funds to pay for the emergency medical expenses that have been incurred due to a rare condition that our daughter Avaleigh has been diagnosed with.

On December 1st, our family was visiting some family in California, when our 7-month-old daughter started having unexplainable seizures. This was extremely scary as her eyes would roll to the back of her head uncontrollably and would come in clusters. Meaning, every few seconds her eyes would roll back, and her arm would twitch forward in a stiffened motion. We rushed her to the Emergency Room where she was immediately admitted to the hospital. This is a medical emergency as there are lots of possible reasons why a person starts having seizures. Avaleigh was under 24 hour Video EEG. This is surveillance done with a person monitored the behavior to find patterns with the patient. Lots of wires and electrodes were hooked up to her head to focus on her brain activity. Unfortunately, her results came back as abnormal. This caused reason to go ahead and get an MRI to evaluate the brain and see if the issues were stimming from something she was born with, injury, or something else entirely.

One of the other things that they are doing is a genetic and metabolic test to see if that can explain some of the abnormal behavior. Here is where we need help. We have insurance, but due to being treated at a hospital out of state in California, and the extensiveness of the emergency tests and treatment, we will hit our deductible just on these things alone. Other bad news, it is December 7. Meaning, we have hit our deductible with these issues for this year, and certainly will be hitting the same deductible again by January. Part of what Avaleigh needs is lots of hospital visits and follow up treatments. Every 2 weeks she will be readmitted for evaluations. The Neurologist has mentioned that this is a marathon and a long road. How can you help? 2 things: 1 Please pray for our family during this difficult time. We need all the prayers we can get. 2.
