ATTENTION ALL FELLOW PILOTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!!!

One of our OWN has been in a very devastating crash this morning at the Salton Sea Fly-In, CA.

Just after 8am, our dear friend Chris Altmayer suffered a collapse at a low altitude and was Life Flighted out of the desert! From what information I have gathered from the PNW crew and Chris himself (who FaceTimed me from the ER with permission to make this for him) he will be having surgery today on his broken right femur with screws, a plate and rods so far. It seems that his back and neck are "okay" at the moment, but I will add details to this as they come in!

*UPDATE his back L3/4/5 and S1 are shattered, concussion and brain bleed, right femur clean break*

His motor is a complete LOSS!

Chris is a very skilled pilot, incredible friend, a family man with 2 beautiful boys and his partner Ashley! Chris is also one of the event coordinators for the Moses Lake Fly-In in WA!

Right now his parents and Ashley are flying in to be with him. I cannot even begin to imagine the costs of the now growing medical bills, Life Flight, travel, hotels ect but we NEED to do everything we can to support our fellow brother during his recovery now!

From what I understand, there is no medical coverage either. (At the moment)

PLEASE HELP IN ANYWAY YOU CAN!!

He would give anyone of us the shirt off his back in a second!

Btw, I am a para-wife in the PNW and most of you know who I am from many events and the Sandlake Fly-In.

All funds will go directly to Chris Altmayer.
