We are currently at BluePearl Emergency Hospital with our beloved Sunshine. What started as a breathing scare has turned into a serious diagnosis: Sunshine has pulmonary bullae (air blisters in the lungs) that are putting her life at risk. She is coming home for now, but may have to keep going back to have her lungs drained until we can hopefully come up with the money for her surgery on Monday. To give Sunshine a real chance to recover, she needs a specialized lung surgery (lobectomy). The cost of emergency stabilization, a CT scan, and this life-saving surgery is more than we can handle alone, and BluePearl requires a significant deposit to begin her treatment.
Sunshine isn’t just a dog; she is the heart of our family and a source of comfort for my husband, who relies on her companionship to help manage his PTSD from the military. Anyone who knows her knows her sweet spirit and playful energy. Seeing her now, struggling to breathe and needing repeated procedures just to stay comfortable, is heartbreaking. We aren't ready to say goodbye to her yet, and we are doing everything we can to give her the best chance at recovery.
To our friends, family, and fellow animal lovers, we are reaching out for help to give Sunshine a chance to come home. Any donation or share means the world to us and brings us closer to saving her life. Thank you for your kindness and support.
